The Field Welder is responsible for ensuring quality fusion welding of Continuous sucker rod. They are responsible for maintaining the field welder units as well as the safe transportation of Continuous sucker rod to and from well sites. The Field Welder is responsible for driving and maintaining Weatherford equipment while adhering to all Weatherford policies and standards set for driving Weatherford equipment.


Must understand and comply with all safety rules and company policies of Weatherford.

Assists in installs and services continuous sucker rod and related equipment in a safe and efficient manner.

Drives the Field Welder safely and courteously.

Completes all paperwork (time sheets, maintenance records, work orders, accident/incident reports, etc.) properly and completely, submit in a timely manner.

Tracks all tools required for the operation and ensure adequate stock of supplies.

Obtains all necessary permits for field welder and trailer.

Completes monthly welder and trailer inspections, attends safety meetings, maintains log of required repairs issues.

Observes job procedures and identifies problems, provides suggestions for controlling or eliminating problems, actively participates in continuous process improvement.

Participates in and promotes HOW 5 reporting.

Work assignments carried out to the highest quality level.

Perform various other duties assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job.


High School diploma or GED preferred.

1-2 years' working in an oilfield fabrication facility

Experience with torches, grinding and welding preferred

Industry related certifications i.e. first aid, H2S, CPR.

Flexibility with regard to working hours.

Class A CDL required (Class A required because of the trailer)

Mechanically Inclined

Able to use power tools

The physical ability to immediately respond to emergency situations.


Experience with Oxygen and Acetylene
